Why Choose Solar Power?

Experience the Empowering Affects of Solar Energy in Fairlight

Fairlight residents have long been conscious of the value of sustainable living. It’s somewhat of a mantra in our tight-knit community. And what could be more sustainable than capturing the power of the sun through solar energy?

Having your own solar energy system brings about an array of benefits. First and foremost, it helps to cut down your energy bills. Imagine not having to fret about electricity price hikes? With solar, you generate your own electricity, which significantly reduces your reliance on traditional power sources. Plus, any excess energy you produce could be sold back to the grid, providing an additional income stream.

From an environmental perspective, solar power is the greenest energy source available. Unlike burning fossil fuels, using solar doesn't release harmful carbon dioxide or other pollutants. The impact of solar is so minimal that the lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions associated with solar panels are tiny in comparison.

In addition to these benefits, solar energy can increase the value of your property. After all, who wouldn’t want to move into a house with a reduced, or potentially non-existent, energy bill?

Fairlight is ideally situated to make the most of solar power. We enjoy an abundance of sunny days, which is perfect for optimising your solar power production.

Solar power efficiency has been continuously improving, and the technology more affordable than ever. This means solar power systems are fast becoming a commonplace sight on the rooftops across Fairlight.

If you are passionate about curbing your spending, improving your green credentials, and improving the value of your home, it may be time to consider solar power.

FAQs

How do solar panels work?

Solar panels convert sunlight into electricity using photovoltaic (PV) cells, which are made of semiconducting materials. When sunlight hits the PV cells, it knocks electrons loose from their atoms, creating a flow of electricity.

Are solar panels suitable for all types of homes?

Solar panels can be installed on most types of roofs, including flat, sloping, and even curved roofs. However, the suitability of your home will depend on factors such as roof orientation, shading, and structural integrity. Our team will check that your home is suitable on our initial site visit.

How much do solar panels cost?

The cost of solar panels varies depending on factors such as the size of the system, the brand and quality of the panels, and the installation costs. On average, a typical 6kW solar panel system can cost between £7,000 to £15,000.

How long does it take to install solar panels?

The installation time for solar panels can vary depending on the size of the system and the complexity of the installation. However, a typical installation for a residential system can take between one to three days.

What are the benefits of installing solar panels?

The benefits of installing solar panels include reduced energy bills, lower carbon footprint, increased home value, and protection against rising energy costs.

How much money can I save by installing solar panels?

The amount of money you can save by installing solar panels depends on factors such as your energy usage, the size of the system, and your local electricity rates. On average, homeowners can save between £10,000 to £30,000 over the life of their solar panel system.

What maintenance is required for solar panels?

Solar panels require minimal maintenance, typically just a regular cleaning to remove any dirt or debris that may accumulate on the panels. Our solar panels come with a warranty of 25 years, which covers any defects or issues with the panels.

What happens to excess energy generated by my solar panels?

Any excess energy generated by your solar panels can be stored in batteries and used when the sun is not shining.
Alternatively, it can be sold back to your local electricity grid, earning you credits on your energy bill. This allows you to offset the cost of any energy you may need to purchase from the grid during periods of low sunlight.
